Those were a few of the bazillion picture that I took. Here are my favorites.
This was taken from Johnston Ridge Observatory. Can you see the new dome being formed in the crater? At some times there is a dumptruck of rock every second being pushed upward.
For as desolate as the mountain side still is 30 year after the eruption, these purple flowers were everywhere giving a new, fresh look to the cliffs.
If you look carefully, you can still see the dead trees lying like toothpicks all over the hillsides.
And yet, new ones are coming in to replace them.
It was a wonderful, awe-filled day.
