Imperfect moms unite!
When I first started hanging out with other moms I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of comparing going on. One mom was strictly breastfeeding, another made all her own baby food from organic vegatables, and I made sure that my baby had 30 minutes of tummy time and could accomplish everything in the “What should my baby be doing?” category. It doesn’t seem to end as the kids get older, either. The categories just change.
I will admit that I spent a lot of time wringing my hands and hoping that I was always doing the right thing. Was I giving them the right foods? Was I making sure that they were being allowed to express their feelings in an appropriate matter? Did I provide enough educational toys? UGH!
Honestly, I am tired of that garbage. I am tired of the “experts” and other moms telling me how to raise my kids. I am doing the best that I can, and my kids are happy and healthy. Well, they aren’t happy when I take the video games away but they always get over it. So, here we are embracing our imperfections. Those things that are harmless, but seem to nag at us or get the “aaahh” comments when we are talking to other moms.
So, I say, let us laugh at them and pray the kids laugh at them too when they are older. There are plenty of things to feel guilty about but feeding the kids Trix for breakfast isn’t one of them.

I agree with you, there are plenty of other things to feel guilty about.
